Canon's new 3D camera set up

Canon is using a set up with 2 of it's XF105s camera's to produce a 3D set to film. This should be pretty nice to have a 3D camera that the average consumer can save up for. Maybe not so spendy as one of these Red Scarlet. With 2 of these, I could be the next hip filmmaker!

Citizen Mayor-Seattle Mayor Race

We just completed Citizen Mayor, a film documentary involving those who ran for mayor, their story's, their positions and what the gubernatorial race was like to run and win and lose. It's a great study in politics, social engineering and also in real life. We helped contribute 5 original songs to the sound track. View Citizen Mayor trailer. Thanks to Atlas Productions for recruiting us for helping and letting us be apart of the crew for Citizen Mayor.

Google will take over

It seems that the Google is poised to take over the world. They plan to sell 55 million Android OS smartphones this year. What it amounts to is to is Android smartphone sales in 2010 are 560% more then 2009! I know where I would like to work! What I really like about being a Gen X baby myself is how embedded we all are with Technology. Even better is having a Gen Y individual tell me and I quote, "Agh, you got a Treo?? That's so 2007!" Here are some fun things to try with an Android phone. Not sure which one I would purchase a Droid X or a Droid Incredible.

If you are a "non-cooperative" DARPA is looking for you

DARPA'S new camera in development can scan your eyes without you even knowing it. Nice 1984, just like Orwell wrote about. Thoughtcrime may be on the rise next, we better watch what we are thinking!

REACT-Tech Enforcement Squad?

Interesting. I came across this earlier today. Tech Police Force."The unit is composed of 30 investigators and prosecutors on loan from local, state and federal agencies in the Bay Area, including the FBI and the Secret Service. These various jurisdictions cover some of the salary costs under their own budgets; the rest of comes from a $2.3-million allotment from the state and Santa Clara County."

BPOS and SaaS

What is up with Microsoft and BPOS? (Business Productivity Online Suite)
It seems it's selling relatively well. Information Week last week had some great articles
about it. As well SaaS seems to have everyone running to the the Cloud Computing bandwagon, which seems inevitable. Ever since Amazon came up with their Cloud offering others have been following suit. Microsoft' s Azure computing platform seems to offer quite a bit.

Aliens exist & you don't want to meet 'em!

According to Stephen Hawking we should not ever meet with Aliens, it would be disastrous. Microsoft Exchange 2007. How many people in the USA alone use this piece of software? Apple is playing nice with VZW and AT&T who will both offer Apple's tablet device this summer? Droid Eris looks alot like an iPhone these days.

Bypass AT&T with $1 iPhone App!

I knew about about 9 months ago. I read about online. Use an iPod Touch as a phone over Wi-Fi! Fantastic! Sure then I suppose the 'ol iPad will work as well. Hmmm, very interesting...I do not have to be tied into AT&T's iPhone money making calling/internet plan!? Yeah! In other phone news. The Google Nexus One is pretty cool, as is my personal favorite Verizon Wireless's HTC Droid.

Apple iPad competitor?? I hope so!!

Could Apple be having a competitor in this iPad like device? I think so yes, and hope it is.
Any competition between huge Corporations is great because it pushes the price point done for me, the consumer. Adobe and Wired have teamed up to bring this into a reality for us all. I commend them for doing so! A little look at Microsoft's Slate touch screen PC. What will an Android Mobile OS touchscreen look like? Check out the link to get an idea.

Emerald City Race-trailer

I just recently started working on the soundtrack to this film with some other musician's. It tells a back story to the last (2009) Mayoral race in Seattle, WA. This was a race in which incumbent Mayor Greg Nickels had hoped he would win. If he won, he would have gone on to his 3rd term as Seattle Mayor. This should a fun and rewarding project we are working on.

As I suspected...

So Apple came out with the new improved 10 inch iPod Touch, oops, er I mean iPad! I won't lie and say I don't want one, but do I really need a 10 inch iPod?!%#. I was really hoping for a full on tablet notebook from Apple, as opposed to having to buy a "ModBook" through Axiotron. Meanwhile Microsoft has announced Windows Mobile 7 coming out "later this year" per Steve Ballmer. What will the Microsoft Courier look like, and will it run Windows CE ? In the musical world I've got to give a hand to the folks at tc eclectronic. I just recently become the happy owner of a second hand M300 dual engine processor. My props to my sales guy Andy at Guitar Center for recommending at $75 as opposed to retail price of $250.The link above gives some great examples of what it can do. It's excellent, it has a multi-effects engine and a reverb engine with a ton of options for flexibility. It's outstanding in the studio and for live sound reinforcement. So the 'ol guitar rack is now complete. At this point there is a Peavey Rockmaster Tube Preamp(for a great lead channel-use the crunch channel almost as hi-gain as the Ultra channel), a BBE Sonic Maximizer 411, dbx 266XL Compressor/Gate(this thing totally got rid of extra hum and unwanted noise, I run one channel into the Clean EFX loop on the Peavey and the other into the Crunch/Ultra EFX loop), a Quadraverb 2, and the a fore mentioned M300. I have pedals for everything, (except for G foot pedal to control M300 remotely). All this fun sonic love goes into the Line 6 duoVerb modeling combo amp (to record to use the XLR recording outputs direct to the the XLR inputs on the Tascam FW-1082 mixer Mac or PC depending on the software needed. In addition to this I also have an assortment of pedals, as you can never have enough. I use a Moogerfooger-12 stage phaser, a Morley Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah(this is the best wah I've ever used in 25 years of playing guitar), A Digitech Bass Synth Wah/Envelope Filter(this a super fun noise maker to the Nth degree!), a Behringer Digital FX600 Multi EFX(this pedal I got prior to the M300-there is no comparison the M300 takes the cake, but if I do not want to hual around my whole rack to a gig or a studio, it comes in handy!), Danelectro Fab Overdrive( for $15 this is great fix for a pretty great sounding distortion pedal), and a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster(this is a great used as a preamp or to get extra boost for a guitar, bass, synth or drum sound for recording or live sound applications). As a musician you can never have ALL the equipment you need, because there is always something else you may want to get to tweak your sound. It's kind of like getting into photography, or collecting and restoring cars. You know you will never stop collecting. You just hope your significant other understands, supports and encourages your music fetish like mine does.
